Today i went to foynes with mom and dad! got some super amazing pictures i think! i'll be developing them tomorrow! i'm pretty excited to see how they turn out!! :D :D and then had choir practice!! went straight from foynes to the chapel so my hair was like mankk... haha i ended up washing me hair in a sink at the chapel!! it's surprisingly SHINY!! :D and yeah it was just an amazazing day!!!!! i can't wait to develope my photos! i'll try scan them and put them on here!! theres a few specific ones i'm looking forward to seeing!!! i almost fell off a pier and slipped off a huge thing of steps into the ocean for them damn shots so they better be awesome! lol Fingers crossed!!! :)

Well had a great weekend! spent thursday night at Camilla and Alan's house watching movies and eating junk food!! :) then Friday we went to A going away party for Liam! it was cool loads of people were there... y35 71m <3>
then saturday we went to midleton for a bit and then to trav and bren's for lunch with the missionaries... it was sooo flipping funny trav put the chocolate fountain on and it sprayed chocolate all over Elder Dickerson... haha funny!! then we watched the rugby match :( didn't go so well... lol


then we got chinese and then we went back to millie and alans again.. watched tv woke up were almost super late for church but luckily we weren't too late!! early enought for me to conduct the opening hymn!! lol it was an awesome few days really :) argh! in one of THOSE moods again where everything is like... I got called as ysa Rep in cork... I'm trying so hard to come up with some ideas and stuff... it would be so much easier if we had a larger and more enthuisiastic group! but i tells ya! i will have them excited about Ysa Activities yet!

I've seen a load of good ideas! while there are only like 4 of us active a dance is kinda.. a bad idea! especially since i'm the only girl?!? GAH!

But i've seen some good alternatives! :)

also.. still loving college.. starting to feel a lil pressure now for christmas evaluation. but i'll survive it i flipping hope! RIGHT?!? lol

and then once this evaluation is over it's pretty much a free fall til april! i kinda can't believe it's almost over really?! one exam in may right at the beginning... i'm pretty freaked really.. i mean i'm keeping up with the classes and all i'm just like.. wooo i'll graduate next september! :) :)

then i've gotta decide what to do next! for now i'm happy with doing my second year of photography! and then probably a mission in like october of 2011?! scary but i gotta do something right?! anyhoo... that's like a good while away so we'll see what happens til then?!

Ah well.. i know everything is for a reason! i just flipping wish i could find out the reason for everything... that way i'd be much ..MUCH more willing to do stuff?! i also wish that there was like Clear instructions for life "Christi in 2009 you must Go to college in st johns and do photography, In 2010 you must go and do what you've always wanted to do.. and don't worry it'll work out, in 2011 ....." people say that'd be boring.. but honestly i think it would be a HUUUGE help! i'd like to know that i'm gonna succeed and not make a fool of myself when i do something?! anyway...

Wow!! it has been WAAAAAY too long!!

But i have news!! yes even good news!

Since coming back From america life couldn't have been any better! (well besides maybe finding a cheque for a billion euro with my name on it)
I started college about a month ago! PHOTOGRAPHY!!!!! at first i got rejected because i did such a Horrible interview! really i wouldn't have taken me seriously either!! but luckily someone dropped out. IT WAS MEANT TO BE! i'm loving college so much now! i've become a total different person over this past month! i don't mind talking to people! i've made so many new friends and i feel awesome cuz i actually know what i'm doing at college not like when i was at school pretty much constantly confused about everything! lol

argh! yes it's alll gooood!!

My hair is red! and i've lost weight! and la di da life's just a million times better than before i left for america! Funny right?!

I've seen the other side of a few people that has completely changed my mind of how i feel about them and i think i'm better for it! i don't feel so inferior to them just because they treat me like crap... bacause now they've been where i have... there's nothing to treat me like crap about without sounding like a giant hypocrit.. so yeah!


I pretty much love everything right now!! i don't have everything i've ever wanted but i have everything i need for now!

I'm finally home! i never knew it could feel so damn good to be home!!
almost thought i wouldn't make it though!!
we got to london and although we were catching a connecting flight we still had to go through border patrol!?!? and at the end of july they changed it so that South Africans need a visa to be in the uk! i was like freaked! the woman there wanted to jus let me go but the dude was having none of it! i was like in tears at the desk.. had no idea what to do! luckily the chick jus called her boss and then gave me a temp visa! the other dude was just being a big ASS!! so it was all good!! then got home to the rain!! :) never knew i could love it so much!! i got to give everyone their stuff! MARK!!! he is the cutest little thing on earth! he's now speaking Afrikaans and Irish too! in Afrikaans : Trav asks him.. " hoe oud is jy?" and he answers showing two fingers "twee" or trav says "hoe gaan dit?" and he replies "goed dankie" it's the cutest thing ever!! and in irish.. (excuse any spellings) Trav says "conas ata tu?" and Spuddy says "Go Maith" and then she says "cead is anim duit?" and he shouts out "MARKY" haha i swear so cute! then she says "marky what does mommy say when she wants you to relax?" and he says "tog a Boge" so cute!! and he talks alot too now!! i snuck him some nesquick powder and he was like "mmm Yummy Secret" haha i'm so glad to see them all again!! it's so GRRREEEAAAT!!! :) :) it's now 3:40 am and although i barely slept on the flight... i can't sleep! damn Jet lag!! LAME!!!

Mely Torres Thursday after my conference I took the girls on a tour of San Diego to see the Mormon Battalion Monument, Old Town, Balboa Park, The Embarcadero, Down Town San Diego, The gaslamp quarter, The Corornado Bridge, Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado Island Beach, and eat at Horton Plaza Down Town. I think they went to the pool after that.

Mely Torres Christi decided to stay home on Wednesday while the other girls went to the Birch Aquarium. After a lengthy massage on my delux massage chair, she finally felt better and agreed to go with me to an IRS Conference. We went and got all sorts of free stuff for her from the vendor booths and she sat through a session on the IRS Earned Income Credit without falling asleep. Then we met up with the girls. Was this the day I found the girls at the pool where I live with a boy from the YSA ward and my single home teacher that has never visited me but wanted to see them? Hmmmmm.






Mely Torres Went shopping on Tuesday to Deseret Books and found that the harry Potter film was coming out so at spur of the moment bought tickets for the premier at midnight. Needed to buy some pants to sit on the floor to wait for the movie and instead we decided to make a pact and purchase PJs. We bought PJs and dressed at the restaurant next door. I played around with the Gay guy at the restaurant and he gaves us all free stuff. We bribed a girl $10USD to save our place in line just to find out they made everyone go inside of the theater to wait for the movie. We penciled lightning bolts on our foreheads and ate while we waited the 4+ hours for the movie. It was funny! Got home after 3 am.


Mely Torres Came back to the US. Had a guy from Institute take them to FHE at the YSA ward on Monday. By the Way - the girls have serious tans!


Mely Torres They moved in with me last Friday. I took them to Mexico where we delivered food boxes to the poor, went to see the place where Liam and I are having our reception, took them to see La Bufadora where Christi and I found a painting of Joseph Smith in all places (christi bought it), went to Ensenada for fish tacos that Melissa wouldn't eat, took a mini cruise of the bay of Ensenada, and they had their first taste of real mexican tacos and other foods. Took them to church and tried to translate for them as everything was in spanish.

well.... i'm leaving in about 13 hrs.... stressing my butt off.... dunno why but i just am.... it's already late and i'm wide awake!!! then still gotta wake up at nine so i can have a nice relaxing bath!!! i hope i don;t have too much stuff in my bag! cuz that could be a problem i think.... ah well my hand luggage is practically non existant so i'll just empty some stuff into that if needs be!

Hay fever!?

Well.. i've been having problems with my skin! bought all the masks and scrubs like possible and nothing was working! so i was like GAH!!! i'd been meaning to look up on the internet if it had anything to do with hay fever... just cuz it all started around the same time my dads hay fever started affecting him.... didn't think it would affect the skin though... but. i was wrong!!!! it's so funny cuz as long as i can remember i've always gotten a rash when i sat on grass in the summer.?!?! never thougth anythng of it but when i was looking for what was wrong with my face i found out that that was also one of the symptoms... so it's not like i only just got hay fever or anything/.. i've had it for Ages! weird eh!?!?! anyway// just felt like randomly writing that down!?!?

Gah! leaving tomorrow?!!?! ma belly is jelly! lol...
I packed last night though so idon;t gotta worry about that.. just gotta put the last bit of my washing in and i'm done! then print off my ticket and off we go!!! :) getting excited again now!

Brendan did a marathon today! so we went into town really early to see him off and wait fotr him!! oh yeah!! it;s a bank holiday today!!! so yeah!! then bbq at the mcgraths! was good i guess beside being embarrassed more than i've ever been embarrassed in my entire life!!!!!!! omgosh! i wished i'd die for like those 10 minutes!! sometimes i get irritated that people can't keep their mouths shut!! but other than that and a few other things i guess it was ok!!

First of all...... i think it's a YESS on the yankee visa! lol You-ess-AY here i comes!

had my thingy today to get my visa... and i'm like 99.9999999999% sure i got it...

second.. we went to the each yesterday!! was cool as! picked up like a bajillion wee tiny lil shells... some were pink and stuff.. way cool!! i'm quite obsessed with them at the moment!! soooo i was wondering.... what the hell makes them different colours.. cuz i know fo sho that it aint cuz they eat alot of beet root or carrots!! lol....


Hmmmm........ i can't find like anything!! some idiot even said they're formed by rock erosion?!?!?!?!? WTFlippp? ..

SO what i've gathered is this so far...

they secret like jelly stuff from their mantle.. (the jelly thing in on the inside layer of the shell) and the jelly stuff has calcium carbonate crystals in it (yeah wee teeny weeny ones) and they grow to form the new layers of the shell!

so some scientists found out that them mollusks have like a butt load of calcium carbonate in their blood cells...(cool thing is that they could see what blood had the calcumb carb in cuz it was like shiny blood!! =]) and they were like.. hmmm i wonder if it's the calcium carbonate from the blood is the same calcuim that's being secreted in the jelly stuff and making the shell... SO... they made a lil hole in the shell to "induce repair" 48 hours later they found that there was 10% more shiny blood at the place where it was being repaired!

Cool eh? but still doesn't explain the different colours?!?!? aaaah!! i found it! ok so it is actually about what they eat.. oopsy don;t i look like a giant dumbass!! lol
in hotter places there are a lot more different coloured shells... but in cold places (IRELAND!!!!) they are mostly the same colour and usually darker! different foods eaten by the lil creatures cause different pigments to be made in the mantle and then they are "calcified" (ooh BIG WORD!) and so that's what gives them thier colour!
also the pattern has to do with their eating too! .. so if the pigment secretion is contiuous the lines will be in a spiral... but if it's periodic then they'll be lil spots or flecks! and.. if pigment is secreted at the same rate the colour will be uniform.. but if not then it'll be all wavy and stuff!

How cool is that! their pattern and colour depends on what they eat and how often they eat it!! Cool AS!

today.. what a random day!!! went to Trav's for the moring.. then the mib came and helped Brown-Brown (brendan) with the garden.. i think some of them are a few fries short of a happy meal!! lol played guitar hero with Trav... Mark took a bath!! he was so cute!! slipping and sliding all over the place!!
when i got home i tuned the violin and played a wee bit!! lol.. twinkle little star is about all i can do right now... but it's only been one day! lol but it's fun!!
couldn't play drums cuz of course my sticks Broke (oops) and my gayface brother who hasn't played drums in like 3 years (that's not an exaggeration) decided today that he doesn't want me using his sticks... hmm.. after him getting ciggarette burns on my hoodies i lent him i was more than slightly pissed that he wouldn't let me use his unused sticks!! Dumb jerk!

hmm this swine flu thing is crazy.. i was thinking today how i wasn't worried about going to america in june.. but then i was like.. wait a minute... SHOULD I BE?!!? lol but Medic Meg thinks it should be safe... so i'll believe her.... but just incase i die.... this is me blaming her for my death!!! :P

So.. the NEw president... there were rape aligations and stuff.. trial.. he went free and alot of people were pissed that he walked after what he did... but i'm not so sure if he actually did do it and that he's not one of the good guys...

Sure sure he's had no education.. infact grew up as a goat hearder.. but then again look at all the people who have gone to college and university or even that uni professor who just shot 3 people today... education doesn't make you a better person..

Jacob Zuma is also the only zulu in the ANC... odds are against him.. so was it all true or was it to make him look bad?

now he has said a few dumb ass things no doubt! and has become a bit of a joke for them.. like having a shower after unprotected sex with an hiv positive person will stop you from Getting infected.. hmmm well.. there's like the big swine flu thing going on in america right... nothing major.. YET... but it's interesting to read this email i got.. scary kinda too.... it says that 40% of the worlds population will be affected.. 50% of that will die... that's 20% of the worlds population!! scary thought eh?

About a month ago a seminar was put on by Dr. Susan Puls, who is a cardiologist appointed by the First Presidency of the Church as the head of the church's pandemic committee. She said she was not an expert on pandemics as this was not her speciality, but in the two years she's been in her position, is fast becoming one. She now works for the church on a full-time basis working on planning for pandemics and trying to get the word out to as many church members as possible. There were about 1400 people at the Saturday all-day seminar.

In her capacity, she works with the governor's pandemic committee and the federal pandemic planning agency.

She also said a pandemic is coming - not 'maybe' but is DEFINITELY coming.

She says the pandemic is expected within the next two years but she personally belives it will be 'sooner rather than later.' The various groups (CDC, WHO, etc..) do not know what the pandemic will be but 'first among their list of suspects is the avian bird flu. It's only one mutation away from being easily transmitted from birds to humans and from human to human.'

She said the World Health Organization expects 40% of the world population to become sick. Of those who become sick, they expect 50% will die. If you do the math - there are over 6 billion people on the earth today - that puts the death rate at over 1.4 billion people - and she says these deaths will happen over only a 3 to 4 month period of time.

Dr. Puls related that when the pandemic hits the US, mandatory quarantine's of all infected and NON-INFECTED peoples will occur within the first 48 hours. Only emergency personnel (Dr's, nurses, firemen, police, national guardsmen, etc..) will be allowed to leave their homes - not even to go to the store, etc.. This quarantine will last during the duration of the 'pandemic cycle' which will last approximately three months.

Her main point was that everyone will need a MINIMUM of 3 months supply of food at home as the governments of the world will be overwhelmed within the first week and cannot be counted on to provide food, medical help, etc..

She only briefly spoke on the 'social disruption' that will occur and did not go into any detail about what plans may, or may not exist, to deal with this. However - think about this - if your neighbors (both those you know and strangers) run out of food how might they react? Then think of all the individuals who already live outside of the law and are only 'controlled' by our current legal system. How might they react when law enforcement becomes innefectual due to illness among the ranks and those who abandon their jobs to stay home and protect their own families. Ditto for the national guard and our own military.

This isn't meant to scare anyone - just to provide a 'heads up' as 'to be forewarned is to be forearmed.'

Today.. feelings and stuff... it's all gonna be new!

well... 22nd of april... Elections in South Africa are starting today. let's hope the outcome is good... chances are it'll probably stay with the Anc though...
Also its Travice (my sister)'s birthday... heading off for a braai (bbq) in about half an hour... but i've decided that i gotta write something on this everyday.. so i'm doing it now before i go cuz i might not have a chance later tonight.....

I'm listening to alot of yellowcard again.. i like it it makes me feel great.. like i'm in love but i'm actually not.. haha that was the worst bit of explaining i've even done!! >_<

Anyway... i should go get dressed!

Right now i feel happy... not just content but happy.. and excited about life in general..
